Port angeles for the weekend
Jun 19
This weekend we went to Port Angeles. Port Angeles is where Eric grew up for part of his life, high school on. His grandfather still lives there. We went up for Father’s Day to finally see PA and for Eric to play in a Father’s day golf game. I’ve been in PA, or rather through PA before but I’d never gone and really seen PA. On the way there Eric and I had a great conversation about his time in PA and what adventures he had as a high schooler in such a small town.
Saturday morning we went to the PA Farmer’s market. It wasn’t hat much to get excited about. It was even smaller than the Orenco Sunday Farmer’s market.
We walked down to the waterfront and down a path that’s right by the water. There was some sort of pirate function going on so we didn’t go all the way out to the pier. We walked around downtown PA for a while and shopped for a birthday present for Julie since her birthday was a few days ago.
We went for a cruise around PA and Eric showed me all his old haunts. We cruised by Jorge’s house, John Waz’s house and his high school. We even went to his old house to check it out. Here’s a picture of Eric in front of his old house.
Sunday Eric, his dad and grandfather left the house early to go play in their tournament while Julie and I stayed home and hung out, read a bit and ended up talking for over three hours. I can’t believe we talked for that long but there was lots to talk about, especially Eric’s school plans and what he’s going to do since he didn’t get into his program for fall of 2005.
Later we met the guys at the golf club, had lunch and headed home. Here’s some great pictures of the guys after their round.
